Approve your TikTok Ads budget and check billing
Confirm your advertising budget, complete TikTok billing, and verify promotional credits before launch.
Before you begin
Identify the person who can approve advertising spend and the person who owns the payment method. They may be different people.
Confirm which advertising account Pepperland will manage. If account setup or access is incomplete, first review Set up your TikTok Ads account and give Pepperland access.
Pepperland recommends that your company pay TikTok directly and approve campaign spending in before launch.
1. Agree on the campaign budget
Confirm the campaign’s purpose and destination, start and end dates, currency, media budget, separate Pepperland fees, applicable taxes, total out-of-pocket limit, and who can approve budget increases or pauses.
For a fixed-spend pilot, Pepperland recommends a lifetime budget, where supported, with a defined end date. A lifetime budget applies across the campaign or ad group’s scheduled duration rather than resetting each day. Have Pepperland confirm the appropriate budget level and minimum budget requirements. See TikTok’s budget guide.
When Dynamic Daily Budget applies, TikTok may spend up to 25% more than the daily budget on an individual day. With an unchanged budget, spending over the Sunday–Saturday calendar week is limited to seven times the daily amount. Do not treat a daily budget as a strict daily spending cap. See TikTok’s Dynamic Daily Budget guide.
2. Check the billing setup
For accounts managed through Business Center, open Finance > Payment management. Select Manage under Payment methods, or Settings next to Available balance, depending on your layout. Add or update the company payment method and confirm which method is primary.
For a standalone advertising account not managed through Business Center, open Ads Manager > Tools > Billing and use the Payment page.
Enter payment details directly in TikTok. Never email card information to Pepperland. See TikTok’s payment setup guide.
Confirm which billing arrangement applies:
-
Manual payment: Your company adds funds before advertising runs and must maintain a sufficient balance.
-
Automatic payment: TikTok charges when the account reaches its billing threshold or billing date, whichever comes first. The threshold determines payment timing; it is not a campaign spending cap.
-
Monthly invoicing: Eligible businesses pay according to their approved invoicing arrangement.
